What is The Formed Mindin Taoism?

The term "Prejudiced Mind" originates from Zhuangzi·Qi Wu Lun: "If one follows one’s prejudiced mind and takes it as one’s master, who alone has no master? Not only those who understand the succession of things and obtain it from their own minds, but even fools possess it.

What is The Formed Mindin Taoism?

To have notions of right and wrong before one’s mind is formed is like saying, ‘I arrived in Yue yesterday, yet I left today.’" A "prejudiced mind" refers to bias, or the thoughts and emotions of human beings, which is the root cause of the emergence of notions of right and wrong in the world. The manifestation of right and wrong leads to the impairment of Dao. There is one kind of right and wrong over there, and another kind of right and wrong here; there is no true right and wrong in the world. Only by eliminating the prejudiced mind, obliterating right and wrong, keeping the mind empty and tranquil, and resting in nature can one attain the state of union with Dao.
