What is Worldly Mind in Taoism什么是尘心
"Chen Xin" (尘心, "Worldly Mind") is also known as "greedy mind," "mind of fame and profit," or "mind of toil and servitude." It is one of the distinctions made by early The Quanzhen Dao regarding the category of mind. In contrast to the True Mind (zhen xin), the Worldly Mind refers to a state of consciousness obscured by material desires and overrun with craving. The True Mind is the original condition of the mind and the goal of mind-refinement; the Worldly Mind is the wandering, distorted form of mind, and serves as the starting point for Internal Alchemy cultivation. Only by eliminating the Worldly Mind can the True Mind be revealed, enabling one to become a person who has attained the Dao.
