Shangqing Zhongjing Zhuzhen Shengmi (The Secret Sacred Teachings of All True Immortals in the Shangqing Canon). The original author is unknown.

It quotes the annotations by Liang Qiuzizi on Huangting Neijing Jing (The Internal Scripture of the Yellow Court) compiled by Bai Lüzhong of the Tang Dynasty, indicating that it was presumably compiled after the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang. The original text consisted of eight rolls and is included in the Dongxuan Section, Genealogy and Record Category of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

The Taoist practices of the Shangqing School are centered on deity visualization (shensi), and numerous deities and spirits of heaven and the human body are enumerated in various scriptures.

This text compiles spirits and deities appearing in Shangqing texts such as biographies, talismans, and ritual protocols into a single collection.

It cites dozens of Taoist works, listing in detail the secret taboo names, courtesy names, appearances, residences, clothing, sacred artifacts, official duties, and subordinates of relevant spirits and deities one by one.

From this collection, one can gain an understanding of the Shangqing School’s immortal genealogy.

Most of the quoted scriptures are ancient texts from the Six Dynasties period, and the majority of them are still preserved in the Daozang today.
