The Six Lords of the Southern Dipper 南斗六星君

The Six Lords of the Southern Dipper are six star deities in Taoism, and their names are as follows: the First Lord of the Southern Dipper, the Lord of Life; the Second Lord, the Lord of Official Fortune; the Third Lord, the Lord of Longevity; the Fourth Lord, the Lord of Fortune Calculation; the Fifth Lord, the Lord of Calamity Relief; and the Sixth Lord, the Lord of Rebirth.

Shangqing Jing (The Scripture of Highest Clarity) states: "The six stars of the Southern Dipper: the first is the Palace of Heavenly Treasury, which is the Lord of Life; the second is the Palace of Heavenly Minister, which is the Lord of Official Fortune; the third is the Palace of Heavenly Beam, which is the Lord of Longevity; the fourth is the Palace of Heavenly Unity, which is the Lord of Fortune Calculation; the fifth is the Palace of Heavenly Pivot, which is the Lord of Calamity Relief; the sixth is the Palace of Heavenly Mechanism, which is the Lord of Rebirth. Collectively, they are called the Six Administrative Lords."

Taoism holds that the Six Lords of the Southern Dipper are celestial officials who govern all living beings in the world, including humans, demons, spirits, gods, and immortals. The Great Emperor of the South Pole of Eternal Life is their "immediate superior," so the six palaces of the Six Lords of the Southern Dipper are all under the jurisdiction of the Great Emperor of the South Pole of Eternal Life.
