Master Hunran is Wang Daoyuan, a Taoist priest of the late Yuan Dynasty.
It is included in the Jade Instructions category of The Dongzhen Section within The Daozang.

In his preface, Master Hunran states:
“The Song of the Blue Sky was composed by the True Man Qiu Changchun. This song has thirty-two lines… The first twelve lines clarify the foundation of cultivating nature; the middle twelve lines describe the practice of reverting to life; the final eight lines portray the wonderful fusion of nature and life, transcendence of the bodily form, and divine transformation.”
The commentary explains each line of the verse, elucidating the purpose of Internal Alchemy cultivation.
Its teachings are rooted in the Northern Quanzhen doctrine of dual cultivation of nature and life, with priority given to cultivating nature before life.
