It consists of one volume and is included in the Yujue (Jade Secrets) category of The Dongzhen Section in The Daozang.
Commentary on the Transcendent Scripture of Salvation
The original scripture has only over 300 characters, mainly expounding the doctrines of being and non-being, form and emptiness held by Taoist priests of the Chongxuan (Double Mystery) School during the Sui and Tang dynasties. The annotated version divides the scripture into three chapters: the first chapter is "Explaining the Meaning of Preaching the Scripture"; the second chapter is "Elucidating the Mental Method of Ascending to Mystery"; the last chapter is "Persuading and Illustrating the Merits of Upholding the Scripture". The annotations mostly interpret the scripture in accordance with its text, citing the Buddhist Heart Sutra of Prajna to expound the scripture. The writing is concise and lucid, conforming to the original intent of the scripture.
