Huang Juzhen's Yin Fu Jing Commentary 黄帝阴符经注 黄居真注

Originally titled "Annotated by Chen Huang Juzhen, a Taoist Priest Bestowed with Purple Robes, the Master of Void Tranquility".

Tongzhi·Yiwen Lue (Comprehensive Records of Literature and Arts) cataloged the work as a one-volume text, which was presumably compiled during the Northern Song Dynasty. The surviving version is included in the Yujue (Jade Secrets) category of The Dongzhen Section in The Daozang.

Huang Juzhen's Yin Fu Jing Commentary

The scripture text is based on the 300-character version without chapter divisions. The preface written by the author states: The Queen Mother of the West expounded the purport of the Yinfu Jing to the Yellow Emperor, arguing that the common people are enslaved by yin and yang, confined by changes, and unaware of the subtle harmony that exists in the invisible realm. However, the supreme sages of ancient times understood that "the spirit of heaven and earth" and "our own spirit" are of the same essence. Thus, when they act, they are in harmony with the spirit; when they are at peace, they are united with the spirit. They exist as one with the cosmos and befriend the creator of all things. "Having no difference in essence is what it means to attain the Dao."

The annotations illuminate the principle of the subtle alignment between the Dao of heaven and the human mind, urging people to act in accordance with heaven. The explanations are concise and straightforward, sharing similar intentions with Ren Zhaoyi’s annotations.
