The author is unknown. Judging from its content, it was presumably composed between the Tang and Song dynasties.
Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Tai Xuan Section within the Daoist Canon (The Daozang).
Poems on the Golden Fluid Great Elixir
This text collects more than ninety five-character regulated poems, discussing the "Seven Returns and Nine Circuits Golden Fluid Great Elixir," which appears to be a method of Internal Alchemy. Its doctrine inherits Cantongqi (The Unity of the Three), stating: "The dragon and tiger are the foundation of the Returning Elixir; husband and wife are metaphors for the medicine’s base."
The cultivation sequence is as follows: "First, rectify the root of the medicine; second, seal the gates of dragon and tiger; third, rely on the transformation of sun and moon; fourth, refine the soul and spirit; fifth, draw the power of Yin and Yang; sixth, regulate cold, heat, and temperature." It claims that after three years of cultivating the elixir, one can ascend to immortality. The verses are quite obscure in meaning.
