One scroll, included in the Original Text category of the Dongzhen Section of The Daozang.
The scripture is attributed to the Celestial Lord of Universal Transformation by Thunder, who is one of the Nine Chen of the Heavenly Divine Firmament Palace—the deity in overall charge of the Five Thunders, the universal transformation of all living beings, and the rewarding of good and punishment of evil.
The main content of the scripture can be divided into two sections.
The first section expounds on the Supreme Dao, stating: "One enters the Dao with sincerity, abides by it with silence, and wields it with gentleness. To use sincerity is like foolishness, to use silence is like tongue-tiedness, to use gentleness is like clumsiness. Only in this way can one transcend form, transcend the self, and transcend transcendence." It also says: "It is precisely in forgetting yet not forgetting, in forgetting that there is nothing to forget, in being free from all that can be forgotten, that one attains the Supreme Dao."
The second section discourses on Qi and Fate, holding that the inherent differences among humans are called Qi, and the distinctions of wisdom and foolishness, purity and turbidity are called Fate. Fate is bound to life, and Qi is bound to Heaven. If those who study the Dao are confined by Qi and Fate, and fettered by Heavenly Mandate, they shall not attain the true Dao.
The scripture also elaborates on methods to eliminate calamities and undo misfortunes, stating that whenever one encounters the three calamities and nine misfortunes, one may recite the scripture in accordance with the Dharma. If one silently chants the title of the Celestial Lord of Universal Transformation, all divine spirits shall come to eliminate calamities and undo misfortunes; if one devotes one's life to this scripture, one may attain longevity.
