Ren Zhaoyi's Commentary on the Yin Fu Jing 黄帝阴符经注解 任照一注

Titled "Annotated by Ren Zhaoyi, a Taoist Believer of Suide Army". Tongzhi·Yiwen Lue (Comprehensive Records of Literature and Arts) has already cataloged this work as one volume, which was presumably compiled during the Northern Song Dynasty.

The surviving version is included in the Yujue (Jade Secrets) category of The Dongzhen Section in The Daozang.

Ren Zhaoyi's Commentary on the Yin Fu Jing

A short preface by the author precedes the volume, stating, "The Huangdi Yinfu Jing, consisting of over three hundred characters, points directly to the human mind, urging one to carefully observe the principle that the Dao of heaven and the Dao of humans have an implicit and coinciding mechanism". It also summarizes the core purport of the scripture, saying, "Yin means hidden; Fu means coinciding.... The Yellow Emperor studied the Yinfu Jing to illuminate the profound mystery that the Dao of heaven and the Dao of humans coincide implicitly with the great principle, hence it is called Yinfu".

This interpretation is based on the profound connotations passed down by Li Quan from the Laojun of Lishan. The annotations focus on elaborating the principle of the coincidence between the Dao of heaven and the human mind, and also involve the theories of Internal Alchemy for health preservation.
