Supreme Three Caverns Sacred Spells
It comprises twelve volumes and is included in the Original Text category of the Dongzhen Section of The Daozang.This work is a compilation of Taoist incantations, collecting more than 780 divine spells of various kinds.
Most are thunder‑and‑lightning divine spells popular since the Northern Song dynasty; there are also spells for healing illness, expelling epidemics, preserving life, saving the suffering, capturing ghosts, and subduing demons.
Most of the incantations are in four‑character verse, ranging from just over ten characters for short ones to as many as two thousand characters for long ones.
They may be divided into twelve categories:
