The Celestial Septenary Charm

The Celestial Septenary Charm 太上七星神咒经

Paul Peng
The Celestial Septenary Charm FULL NAME IS
The Scripture of the Divine Spells of the Seven Stars Spoken by the Supreme Lord

The author is unknown, and the text is presumably a work by Taoist priests during the Song and Yuan dynasties.

It is included in the Text Category of the Dongxuan Section of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

Purportedly structured as a dialogue between the Yellow Emperor the Primeval Sovereign and the Heavenly Elder the Imperial Lord, this scripture discusses how to redeem the common people in the mortal realm from natural disasters and misfortunes. The Heavenly Elder instructs people to recite the Divine Spells of the Seven Stars. It is stated that if one recites the spell seven times daily facing the east, "it can avert celestial disasters above and dispel earthly calamities below". The spell is composed of eighteen lines of four-character rhymed verses.
