The Deng Yu 邓羽
Paul PengShare
Deng Yu was a native of Nanhai (now part of Guangdong Province) during the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties.
He styled himself "Taoist Songshi" (Songshi Daoist).
In the early Ming Dynasty, he once served as the magistrate of Qingyang County, and was known as "Deng Qingyang" by people at that time. Later, he became a Taoist priest and lived in seclusion at Nanyan Palace on Wudang Mountain. Deng Yu was extraordinarily intelligent and disdained associating with ordinary, vulgar people.

After entering Wudang Mountain, he studied under eminent Taoist masters, delving into classics such as those by Huangdi, Laozi, Zhuangzi, Liezi, and works on the "Dragon-Tiger Great Elixir" (a core text of Taoist inner alchemy). He gained a profound understanding of the profound truths within these works.
He authored Guanwu Yin (Odes on Observing Things), also known as Jingshi Wen (Essays for Warning the World).
