The Dongzhen Taishang Daojun Yuandan Shangjing 洞真太上道君元丹上经

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the Zhengyi Bu (Orthodox Unity Section) of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

This work is an excerpted version of the Dongzhen Taishang Suling Dongyuan Dayou Miaojing (The Wondrous Scripture of Great Mystery from the Primordial Cavern of the Supreme Pure Spirit of the Great Cavern Realm)—an important early classic of the Shangqing (Supreme Pure) School of Taoism. It contains chapters such as Yuandan Shangjing (Upper Scripture of the Primordial Elixir), Suling Zhongjing (Middle Scripture of the Pure Spirit), Jiuzhen Mingke (The Bright Ritual Code of the Nine True Beings), and eulogies by the Supreme Heavenly Lord. The content of these two texts is largely the same, though they differ in the level of detail in their wording.

The compiler of this excerpted version was presumably a Taoist priest of the Shangqing School from the late Northern and Southern Dynasties or the Sui-Tang period.
