The Guo Wuwei 郭无为
Paul PengShare
Guo Wuwei was a native of Dizhou (now Huimin County, Shandong Province) during the Five Dynasties period.
As recorded in The New History of the Five Dynasties: Hereditary House of the Eastern Han, he was fond of learning, knowledgeable, and skilled in conversation and debate. He became a Taoist priest and lived in seclusion on Mount Wudang.

Later, when Emperor Taizu of the Later Zhou Dynasty campaigned against Li Shouzhen in Hezhong, Guo Wuwei went to the military headquarters to offer advice, but his advice was not accepted. As a result, he retreated to live in seclusion in Baofu Mountain.
Subsequently, he was summoned to serve as a Jianyi Dafu (a high-ranking advisory official in ancient China), and later was appointed as the Prime Minister.
