The Guo Yangxiao 郭阳晓
Paul PengShare
Guo Yangxiao was a native of Shaanxi Province in the early Qing Dynasty.
He styled himself "Zhuzhusheng" (the Dwelling-in-Permanence Adept). He learned the tuna method (Taoist breathing exercises for vital energy cultivation) from Yun Dabian and practiced asceticism in seclusion on Wudang Mountain.

Bi Yuan, a renowned scholar-official of the time, admired him greatly and invited him to reside at Changchun Guan (Eternal Spring Taoist Temple) in Wuchang. Guo Yangxiao did not advocate or display extraordinary or supernatural feats; instead, he guided others through discussions on xingli (the principles of human nature and cosmic order, a core concept integrating Confucian and Taoist thought). For a time, all the prominent scholars and literati of the era held him in high esteem.
He belonged to the Xinzong (Heart Sect) branch of the Longmen (Dragon Gate) School of Taoism.
