The Hell-Elimination Ascension Liturgy 太上消灭地狱升陟天堂忏

Anonymous author. Judging from the textual content, it was roughly compiled between the Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty.

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (Taoist Canon), under the Dongxuan Section, Ritual Category.

The text states that Yuanshi Tianzun (Jade Pure Heavenly Worthy) radiated great light in the Three Yuan Precious Palace, and recounted the sufferings of sinners in the Ten Directions Hells one by one. The Heavenly Worthy told the people: "If one can copy the scriptures, uphold their essence, meditate calmly to build altars and erect statues, and practice the Dao with sincere devotion while scattering flowers, I will send the Vajra Divine Kings and other deities to restore the dead to life, refine their mortal forms into true essence, and recommend and transcend sinners to ascend to paradise." According to the text, the honorific titles of the various deities of Fengdu listed herein are roughly the same as those in Yuanshi Tianzun Says the Scripture of Fengdu Eliminating Sins, which is included in the Benwen Category of the Dongzhen Section.
