The Huo Jizhi 霍济之

The Huo Jizhi 霍济之

Paul Peng
Huo Jizhi was a native of Pilin (now part of Jiangsu Province) during the Southern Song Dynasty.

His courtesy name was Juchuan.
He engraved and published Profound Secrets and Oral Instructions of the Innate Great Dao of Golden Elixir, which circulated in the world.

In his preface to the book, he stated that this golden elixir illustrated scripture was authenticated by Lin Lingsu as the "Heart Book" of Chen Xiyi. Additionally, Huo Jizhi’s father, Huo Boyu, had encountered the True Person Chen Chijiao (Chen the Barefoot) at Wudang Mountain, who imparted to him the oral instructions on golden elixir; Huo Boyu then added annotations to these instructions. Later, Huo Jizhi continued and fulfilled his father’s aspiration by engraving and publishing the book.

This work is included in the "Various Arts" category of the "Dong Zhen" (True Void) section of the Taoist Canon.
