Precious Repentance Ritual of the Jade Emperor for Pardoning Sins and Bestowing Blessings

Originally attributed to "Xin Hanchen, Military Governor of the Thunder Warriors".

Xin Hanchen was a thunder deity worshipped in Taoism during the Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty. Since this work also mentions Emperor Huizong of Song conferring the title "Haotian Jade Emperor" (Supreme Jade Emperor of the Vault of Heaven), it should have been compiled in the Southern Song Dynasty or the Yuan Dynasty.
Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (Taoist Canon), under the Dongzhen Section, Ritual Category.

This work is a precious repentance ritual, used by practicing Taoist priests to present prayers to deities such as the Three Pure Ones, the Jade Emperor, and the Sacred Parents on behalf of believers—repenting for sins, seeking forgiveness, and praying for the dispelling of disasters and bestowal of blessings.

It contains eight chapters of repentance texts, each with a similar structure: roughly praising the divine power of the Jade Emperor, expressing sincere wishes, imploring the Jade Emperor to show compassion, and praying for the elimination of misfortunes and the granting of blessings.
