Scripture of the Supreme Lord Lao on Repaying Gratitude and the Eight Yang Principles
The author is unknown, and the text is believed to have been compiled sometime between the Tang andSong dynasties.

It consists of one fascicle and is included in theScripture Texts Categoryof theCave Spirits Divisionin theDaoist Canon (Daozang).
The scripture claims that the Supreme Lord Lao observed that lands, states, counties, cities, towns and villages across the four directions and three realms frequently suffered disasters and misfortunes after construction or ground-breaking projects, with no way to atone for and resolve them. Thus, he issued a decree forbidding all evil spirits from causing trouble. Mortals should burn incense, uphold, enshrine, recite and study this scripture.
Reciting this scripture while building or stabilizing a residence can ward off disasters and misfortunes, ensuring that "the household will be blessed with great fortune and perpetually filled with light".
