The Laojun's Repayment Scripture Full Name is
Scripture of the Supreme Lord Lao on Requiting the Great Kindness of Parents
The author is unknown. It was probably compiled during the Sui and Tang dynasties.
The text consists of one fascicle and is included in the Scripture Texts Category of the Cave Spirits Division in the Daoist Canon (Daozang).

Purportedly, the Supreme Lord Lao preached the karmic principles to all the sages of the ten directions at Yuli Mountain in Xina Jade Kingdom, in response to a query posed by the True Person Haikong Zhizang. The Supreme Lord Lao elaborated on the boundless kindness of parents toward their children, which is as weighty as a mountain. He also manifested divine transformations, revealing the scenes of unfilial children suffering cruel karmic punishments in hell, as well as the blessed state of filial children enjoying rewards in heaven, exhorting all mortal beings to uphold the virtue of filial piety.
The scripture denigrates Buddhist monks for being unfilial to their parents, yet its ideology of karmic retribution is derived from Buddhism, and its wording and terminology are modeled after the Buddhist text Scripture on the Inestimable Kindness of Parents.
