Li Chijiao (?-1788) was a native of the Sichuan-Shaanxi region during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It was said that his original surname was Lü and his given name was Yiqi.

People at that time called him "Immortal Barefoot" (Chijiao Daxian).

He attained Taoist enlightenment under the tutelage of Guan Tianxian (Immortal Guan of Heaven) and later lived in seclusion on Mount Laoshan.

When Jin Huaihuai arrived at Mount Laoshan, Li Chijiao further studied under him and fully mastered the profound essentials of the Great Dao (Tao).

During the Qianlong reign, he sojourned in an ancient temple in Jingyang County, Shaanxi Province. His calligraphy was bold and forceful, bearing a resemblance to the styles of calligraphers from the Jin and Tang dynasties.

High-ranking officials and renowned scholars such as Bi Yuan, Wang Xin, and Funing all studied under him, describing him as "one who harbors ten thousand volumes of knowledge in his chest, with profound virtue and morality—none can fathom the depth of his inner wisdom."

He belonged to the Xinzong (Heart Sect) branch of the Longmen (Dragon Gate) School of Quanzhen Taoism.

In the 53rd year of the Qianlong reign (1788), he passed away without illness.
