The Li Guyun 李孤云

The Li Guyun 李孤云

Paul Peng
Li Guyun was a native of Henan, living during the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. From childhood, he admired Taoism and had an inherently simple and sincere nature.

In the early years of the Hongwu period (1368-1398) of the Ming Dynasty, he entered Wudang Mountain and became a Taoist priest at Wulong Palace (Five-Dragon Palace). He formed a spiritual bond as fellow Taoist practitioners with Li Suxi, his townsman.

He practiced Quanzhen Taoist doctrines and attained profound mastery after decades of cultivation.

He passed away at the age of 92 and was buried in Taoyuan Stream.
