The Li Jingxi 李景唏

Paul Peng
Li Jingxi was a native of Gutian, Fujian (now in Fujian Province) during the Ming Dynasty. His courtesy name was Congxin, and he styled himself "Danyanzi" (Yanyan Hermit) and also "Chiyangzi" (Red Sun Hermit).

He lived in seclusion at Shiping Villa, where he delved into the study of the "Yuye Huandan" (Jade Liquid Reverting Elixir) technique—a core practice in Daoist alchemy. He authored works including Baoyuan Neibu Pian (Treatise on Embracing the Origin and Nourishing the Interior), Jindan Jianzheng (Verification and Annotations on the Golden Elixir), as well as a collection of ci poetry, all of which circulated among the people.

For detailed accounts of his life, see Fujian Tongzhi (Gazetteer of Fujian).
