Ma Zhenyi lived in the early Qing Dynasty. His literary name was Fengdian, and he was also called Fengdian (Madman). He resided in Wangdiao Cave on Mount Hua.
He practiced the internal alchemy techniques of Quanzhen Taoism. He was capable of predicting world events, and his prayers for rain and snow were all efficacious. People of his time called him Ma Quanzhen, and he was a Taoist priest of the Longmen Sect (as recorded in Hebin Wenji [Collected Works of Hebin] by Li Kai).
