The Shan Dao'an 单道安
Paul PengShare
Shan Dao'an was a native of Junzhou (present-day Jun County, Hubei Province) during the Yuan Dynasty.
He studied under the True Person Zhang Shouqing of Nanyan on Mount Wudang, and thoroughly mastered Taoist doctrines and rituals.

Later, he secluded himself at the foot of Diezi Peak, devoutly offering incense to the Dark Emperor (Xuan Emperor).
In the early years of the Hongwu era (1368), he traveled to Mount Xihua, Mount Zhongnan and other mountains, and resided at Chongyang Wanshou Palace until his passing. His life story can be found in The Annals of Mount Wudang.
