The author of The Eulogies and Verses of the Various True Beings in Shangqing is unknown.

It is a one-volume work and included in the "Eulogy Category" of the "Dongxuan Section" in the Taoist Canon. This book is a compilation of eulogies, chapters, and poems from various Shangqing scriptures, including The Three Covenants Eulogy of Shangqing's Step-in-Vacuity, The Praise of Shangqing's Circling Movement, The Wisdom Verse of Sorrow and Joy in Step-in-Vacuity, The Mysterious Wandering Chapter of Dongzhen, and Twelve Chapters of the Golden Chapter.

The latter three works are derived from books recorded in the Supplementary Taoist Canon, such as The Music Chapter of Sorrow and Joy by the Supreme Jade Chen, The Supreme Dongzhen's Mysterious Wandering Chapter, and Ten Chapters of the Shangqing Golden Chapter.
