The Precious Repentance Scripture of Supreme Shangqing for Dispelling Disasters and Extending Longevity The author is unknown.

Judging from its content and wording, it should have been compiled by Taoist priests during the Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty periods.

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (the authoritative collection of Taoist scriptures), specifically categorized under ritual texts in The Dongzhen Section (the True Reality Division).

Claiming to be dictated by the Supreme Lord, this repentance scripture is used for dispelling disasters and extending longevity. It records the titles of fifty Shangqing Heavenly Honored Ones and the format of repentance texts. It proclaims that all devout men and women, if afflicted by disasters or illnesses, ought to offer seasonal fruits, fragrant flowers, and lamps before the statue of the Supreme Lord on their birth days, Jiazi days, Gengshen days, the Three Yuan Festivals, the Eight Solar Terms Festivals, and other auspicious days. With sincere devotion, they should pay homage to the Heavenly Honored Ones and recite the repentance texts, or invite Taoist priests to recite and repent on their behalf. By doing so, they will obtain blessings and prolong their lifespan.
