The Supreme Venerable’s Scripture on the Wonderful Remedy for Bovine Jaundice
The author and the era of its compilation are unknown.
It is included in the Taoist Canon, under the category of "Original Texts" in the Cave Mysterium Division.

The scripture claims that when the Perfected One of Universal Goodness in the Heavenly Realm saw that the livestock raised by mortals (such as oxen, horses, foals and calves) frequently suffered from epidemics, he begged the Supreme Lord of the Tao to bestow widespread salvation and deliverance. The Heavenly Venerable said: Mortals fail to understand taboos and pay no heed to the orientation of ox and horse stables, thus violating divine austerities and bringing about seasonal pestilences and plagues. The method of dispelling and averting such misfortunes is to clean and sweep the household on an auspicious day, set up a sacred throne, light lamps and burn incense, recite the numinous text, and repent and give thanks to the divine austerities. By doing so, one can purify and eliminate seasonal plagues, ensuring they never cause harm again.
A five-character ode is attached at the end of the text, which is exactly the so-called "numinous text".
