The Wonderful Scripture of the Divine Incantation of Tianpeng, Northern Emperor of Dongyuan, of the Supreme Lord for Protecting Life and Dispelling Disasters
The author of this scripture is unknown, but it was presumably compiled by Taoist priests of the Dongyuan School during the Tang Dynasty. It is included in the "Original Texts of the Cave True Section" of the Daozang (Taoist Canon).

The scripture is pseudonymously attributed to the Primordial Heavenly Venerable delivering teachings to the Virtuous Lad, intended for the purposes of protecting life and warding off disasters. It records the "names of the Six Heavenly Officials", stating that the Six Heavenly Palaces are located on the Mountain of Ren and Gui in the north, within the realm of Luofeng, and are governed overall by the Divine Lord of Northern Yin (the Northern Emperor), who is in charge of rewarding the good and punishing the evil.
If the common people wholeheartedly recite the "names of the Six Heavenly Palaces", evil ghosts will not dare to invade and harm them. The scripture also contains the "Great Incantation of Tianpeng", claiming that the Great General Tianpeng assists the Five Emperors above and oversees the nether springs below, exercising overall control over the Six Heavens and being capable of subduing evil spirits and taming demons.
Should mortals chant the "Great Incantation of Tianpeng", the Great General Tianpeng will hear the call and come forth, "rescuing them from misfortune and adversity, bringing them peace and health, and safeguarding them to live out their natural lifespan".
