The Wang Jixu 汪集虚

Wang Jixu was a native of Guangxin (now part of Jiangxi Province) during the Yuan Dynasty.

He was a Taoist priest of the Zhengyi School at Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi.

In the 31st year of the Zhiyuan era (1294), he went to Qingcheng Mountain to pay homage to Patriarch Zhang Daoling (the founder of the Zhengyi School) with the esoteric rules of the Zhengyi School that he inherited. He also built the Zhenbai Hut (a small Taoist hermitage) for himself on Qingcheng Mountain.

In the 2nd year of the Zhiyuan era (Note: There is a chronological inconsistency here; the "2nd year of Zhiyuan" of the Yuan Dynasty corresponds to 1265, while the previous "31st year of Zhiyuan" is 1294. The year may refer to a later era with the same name, and the translation follows the original text as provided), the Celestial Master of the Successor Han (a hereditary title of the Zhengyi School leader) invited Wang Jixu to go to the capital to present himself before the emperor, and conferred an imperial edict on him to commend his achievements.

The emperor, recognizing that Wang Jixu could use his Taoist teachings to stabilize the Shu region (ancient name for Sichuan and surrounding areas), bestowed on him the title of "Taiwu Zhenbai Jingming Xuanhao Zhenren" (True Person of Profound Vastness, Utmost Emptiness, Pure Whiteness, Quiet Clarity) and appointed him as the leader of the Zhengyi School in all the mountains of Qingcheng.
