The Wang Sizhen 汪思真

Wang Sizhen, a native of Anqing, Anhui, lived during the Song and Yuan dynasties. His courtesy name was Zhenchang, and his literary name was Jiranzi.

He became a Taoist monk to practice the Quanzhen Taoist doctrine, and later entered Wudang Mountain.

In the 12th year of the Zhiyuan era (1275), he led six disciples to restore and rebuild the Wulong Zixiao Altar (a major Taoist ritual site). People from all over the country showed respect to him, and he initiated more than a hundred disciples into Taoism.

He held the position of Tiandian (an official in charge of Taoist temple affairs) of the local Taoist temple. Later, he passed away without suffering from any illness.
