The Yellow Register Five Agonies Rites
The author is unknown. It was probably compiled during the Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty periods.
Consisting of one scroll, it is included in The Daozang (the authoritative collection of Taoist scriptures), specifically categorized under ritual texts in The Dongzhen Section (the True Reality Division).

As one of the Taoist lamp rituals, this text is used for transcending the deceased.
It states: "Mortals who commit evil deeds and accumulate sins during their lifetimes will fall into hell after death and suffer the torment of the Five Paths of Transmigration. If one can hold a ritual retreat in accordance with Taoist protocols, light the Shining Divine Lamps of the Three Realms and Five Pains, enshrine deities such as the Heavenly Honored One Who Responds to Cries and Relieves Suffering and the Heavenly Honored One Who Turns the Wheel of Kingship, recite true scriptures, and offer praises and prayers, they may implore the deities to deliver the deceased souls from hell and free them from the suffering of transmigration."
