The Zhang Jingxu 张静虚
Paul PengShare
Zhang Jingxu (1432–?) was a native of Pizhou (now part of Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province) during the Ming Dynasty.
He often sat on a tiger skin, hence earning the title "Zhenren Zhang of the Tiger Skin" (a respectful title for Taoist masters). Since childhood, he had a keen interest in Taoist arts. He encountered an extraordinary person who taught him the esoteric elixir-refining techniques passed down secretly since the Northern Song Dynasty. He lived in seclusion on Wudang Mountain and later passed on the elixir-refining techniques to his disciple Li Xu’an.

For details, see Chronicle of Wudang Mountain.
