Zhang Shuyin

Zhang Shuyin was a figure of the Southern Dynasties.
Within the Daoist community, he was known by the title "Wende Youxianjian" (Right Immortal Supervisor of Literary Virtue).

He encountered an extraordinary person (a Daoist adept or immortal) who imparted to him the formula for "Qingjing Fan" (Green Essence Rice, a nourishing alchemical preparation in Daoism). He then practiced Daoist techniques of refining and ingesting such substances to cultivate the Dao.
