The Zhao Yuanliang 赵元亮

Zhao Yuanliang (1909-1987) was born in Hexi, Gansu Province.
He started his military career as a cavalryman in the unit of Ji Hongchang of the Northwest Army. Skilled in combat, he made many military achievements. After Ji Hongchang was murdered, he defected to the unit of Zhang Zizhong.

In 1940, he lost his left arm due to war wounds.
From 1941 onwards, he went to Wudang Mountain and became a Taoist priest of the Longmen School under the tutelage of Hong Yongshou. He studied Taoist doctrines diligently and concurrently practiced medical skills, treating diseases for the people free of charge and gaining great fame in Wudang Mountain.
He passed away at the age of seventy-eight.
