Judging from its content, it is likely one of the altar sacrifice rituals of Zhengyi Taoism dating from the Southern and Northern Dynasties or the Sui-Tang period.

Consisting of one scroll, it is included in the category of Ritual Texts in the Dongshen Section (the Section of Cave Spirits) of theDaoist Canon.
This text describes the altar sacrifice ritual in which Zhengyi Taoist priests present memorials to pray to Lord Lao and the Heavenly Master on behalf of laypeople, summoning theFive-Body True Officials and Merit Administratorsas well as various other divine officials and clerks from the celestial bureaucracy, aiming to dispel disasters and alleviate adversities.
It contains various types of memorial texts, incantatory formulas, and talismans.
