Three Sovereigns' Jade Secrets of the Yin Fu Jing 阴符经三皇玉诀

Originally titled "Composed by Xuanyuan Huangdi (Yellow Emperor)".

It consists of three volumes and is included in the Yujue (Jade Secrets) category of The Dongzhen Section in The Daozang.

In the second year of the Mingchang reign period of Emperor Zhangzong of Jin (1191), Fan Yi wrote a preface for Liu Chuxuan’s Commentary on the Huangdi Yinfu Jing and already quoted this work. Thus, this book should have been compiled by a scholar of the Jin Dynasty.

Three Sovereigns' Jade Secrets of the Yin Fu Jing

The text states: In ancient times, the Yellow Emperor obtained Yuanshi Tianzun’s (Primordial Heavenly Lord) Hunyuan Sanhuang Yujue Yinfu Jing from a stone casket in a great mountain. The book, written in astronomical seal script with over three hundred characters, is divided into three volumes: the Upper Volume on the Heavenly Sovereign, the Middle Volume on the Earthly Sovereign, and the Lower Volume on the Human Sovereign. Since no one could understand the meaning of this scripture, the Yellow Emperor consulted Guangchengzi of Kongtong Mountain and Tianzhen Huangren (Heavenly True Imperial Man) of Emei Mountain.

Presented in a question-and-answer format, the text begins with the Yellow Emperor raising questions about the content of the Yinfu Jing, followed by Guangchengzi and Tianzhen Huangren providing itemized answers. The core purport of the annotations focuses on nurturing essence and qi, as well as practicing Internal Alchemy to pursue longevity.
