The natural way in diet

The little things in our daily lives, accumulated over time, will lead to unexpected results. Whether what we do and think every day is right or wrong, a large quantity will surely bring about a qualitative change, and the resulting outcomes can be vastly different. This is what Laozi said: "A huge tree that fills one's arms grows from a tiny sprout; a nine-storied terrace rises from a mound of earth; a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step." Therefore, whether our conduct and actions conform to the Tao is a matter of life and death that we must understand. Even whether our daily diet conforms to the natural way is related to a person's lifespan, fortune, and misfortune, because eating can bring about health, but it can also lead to diseases. Taoists believe that those who know how to maintain health through diet are like immortals.

In the past, people lived a simple and poor life, and the food they ate was not as rich and nutritious as that of modern people. However, at that time, people rarely suffered from the affluent diseases and civilized diseases that modern people have. Why is that? It's because the things people ate then were different from those of modern people, so the diseases they got were also different. Cancers, hypertension, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, obesity, hyperlipidemia, fatty liver, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, and so on, are all caused by excessive nutrition intake and poisoning due to high fat content. Hypertension is caused by hyperlipidemia. As the name implies, "hyperlipidemia" means that the fat content in the blood is too high. When the fat content in the blood is too high, the blood will lose its clarity and become viscous. If the blood becomes viscous, it cannot flow smoothly. If it cannot flow smoothly, there will be insufficient microcirculation in the limbs and insufficient blood supply to the brain. To solve this problem, the body can only promote blood circulation by increasing blood pressure. To increase blood pressure, only by strengthening the contraction of the myocardium can it be achieved. But if this goes on for a long time, the heart will be damaged due to overwork. The lungs are mainly responsible for purifying and descending. The blood flows back to the lungs through the veins. Due to the viscosity of the blood, the lungs can only increase their workload to complete the task of recycling and purifying and descending. Over time, the lungs will also be affected.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the liver is mainly responsible for storing blood and prefers smoothness and free flow of qi. The liver is like a warehouse. It will convert the excess and unused nutrients in the human blood into glycogen and store it in the liver. When the human body is short of nutrients, it will convert the glycogen into plasma for use. However, nowadays people eat until they are full for three meals a day, and there is no chance to use these stored energies. As a result of this situation where there is only intake and no output over time, the liver will gradually enlarge and become a fatty liver. Once it becomes a fatty liver, the liver will lose its activity and elasticity and develop towards fibrosis and sclerosis. Once the liver becomes cirrhotic, its detoxification and free flow of qi abilities will be reduced, which will then bring harm to human health. In addition, when the nutrition in the body is too high, some of the nutrients will be converted into sugar under the action of various enzymes and enter the blood. Due to the increase in blood sugar, the pancreas will increase its workload, secreting more insulin to transform and degrade it. However, due to the increase in the workload of the pancreas, its efficiency will be reduced, and less and less insulin will be secreted. If the sugar cannot be transformed, diabetes will form. When diabetes is severe, the lower limbs of people will fester, and some patients have to have amputations. Moreover, because the sugar and fat contents in the blood are too high, the workload of the kidneys in filtering and metabolizing will increase and cause strain. Therefore, excessive nutrition will increase the workload of the internal organs and make them overly tired, resulting in diseases. The root of all this is caused by excessive nutrition and fat poisoning. Where does fat come from? The meat we eat is fat, and oil is also fat! Especially animal fats are prone to coagulation. When people are in a state of entanglement and tension in their hearts, qi stagnation and blood stasis are likely to form. At this time, when encountering the accumulated yin-cold qi in the human body, the stagnant blood under the action of this yin-cold qi is likely to form the core of a clotting factor. Once this core is formed, it will attract the surrounding fat to adhere to it. It will grow bigger and bigger like a snowball. Over the years, a blood clot will form. When this blood clot forms and blocks the heart, it is a myocardial infarction. When it blocks the brain, it is a cerebral infarction. Once a cerebral infarction forms, it will lead to insufficient blood supply to the brain. When brain cells cannot get nutrients, they will die and form brain atrophy, which is the cause of Alzheimer's disease. And the viscosity of the blood will adhere and deposit on the walls of blood vessels like rust. Over time, the blood vessels will thicken, lose their elasticity, become brittle and narrow, making the blood unable to flow smoothly. This is the reason why human cerebral blood vessels rupture under high pressure.

All of these are caused by eating. Of course, there are many other diseases related to eating, drinking, and bad living habits, and I won't list them one by one here. In short, all of these originate from the human heart. The heart is the source of all diseases. Psychology and physiology are synchronized. If people are in a state of tension and bad psychological state for a long time, qi stagnation and blood stasis will become a physiological norm. Because stagnant blood is viscous blood, and once this viscous blood forms, even if one is a vegetarian, the symptoms of "three highs" (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and hyperglycemia) will still appear, because this is the internal cause of the formation of the "three highs", and high-fat food is the external cause. The combined action of internal and external factors is the root cause of human diseases. In this physiological environment of qi stagnation and blood stasis, in order to adapt to this living environment, cells will be forced to change their genes and induce canceration. On the other hand, in the stable state of qi stagnation and blood stasis, the human immune ability will be greatly reduced, which provides an ideal space for the survival of cancer cells.

The Taoist way of health preservation teaches you a healthy lifestyle, making people return to simplicity and plainness and follow nature. This is the self-cultivation secret passed down to us by Laozi: "Embrace simplicity, reduce desires." Only by following this can people obtain inner peace. Once inner peace is achieved, the body's self-repair ability will be activated. Once the body's self-repair ability is activated, all your diseases will heal on their own. Moreover, by using the method of fasting to eliminate the excessive nutrition in the human body and teaching people to be vegetarians and eat raw food, people can avoid excessive intake of animal fats, oils, salts, and seasonings. After food is fried, stir-fried, cooked, or deep-fried, it will absorb the properties of fire. People will get internal heat after eating it. When vegetables are eaten raw, their natural properties, living energy, and clear and fresh qi will be retained. However, the more artificial processing these living energies undergo, the more they will be lost. Therefore, eating vegetables raw has the functions of detoxification, beautifying the complexion, improving appearance, detoxifying, reducing inflammation, relieving constipation, losing weight, cooling blood, clearing blood, and reducing internal heat. If you choose such a lifestyle, many of your diseases will be cured without taking medicine.

So, when people get sick, they should first reflect on themselves, look for their own reasons, repent for what they think and whether their conduct is right, and check whether there is a problem with what they eat and drink, instead of rushing to the hospital. However, many people, when they get sick, the first thing that comes to their minds is the hospital and doctors. They push everything to the hospital and want the hospital and doctors to solve their problems for them. This is really going in the opposite direction, and the result can be imagined. It's like owing someone money but not wanting to pay it back and instead finding an unrelated person to pay the debt for you. Can it work? For diseases caused by excessive nutrition, if you want to use drugs to treat them, not to mention whether they can really solve your problems, "All drugs have side effects." The toxic and side effects brought by long-term and large-dose medication on your body are real. The five grains, beans, vegetables, and fruits in a vegetarian diet contain all the nutritional elements needed by the human body, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, cellulose, and so on. As long as people can eat normally, there will never be a lack of nutrition. If you eat so much oil and meat again, it has exceeded what the human body needs by several times. These extra components are the causes of modern civilized diseases. Excessive is as bad as insufficient, and both will bring harm to the human body. This is the natural way in diet.
