Can Taoists Get Married?
Paul PengShare
In Taoism, lay Taoists (jushi) are allowed to get married. As for whether ordained Taoist priests can get married, it depends on the Taoist school, and different schools have different regulations. For example, in the Quanzhen School of Taoism, it advocates celibacy and leaving home for pure cultivation, so Taoist priests under this school are not allowed to get married.

In the Zhengyi School of Taoism, there is no rule prohibiting marriage, so the vast majority of Taoist priests under this school have already started a family.
