What is the Huangdao Jiri 黄道吉日?
Paul PengShare
Shensha (divine and evil spirits) are categorized by year, month, day, and hour, each governing different aspects. The selection of an auspicious day mainly focuses on the day itself, attaching importance to the celestial stem of the day just like fortune-telling. However, the choice of an auspicious day does not ignore the good or bad luck of the year, month, and hour; instead, it requires a comprehensive consideration by examining them together.
The Shensha of the Yellow Path (auspicious) and Black Path (inauspicious) include Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Bright Hall, Heavenly Punishment, Vermilion Bird, Golden Treasury, Heavenly Virtue, Jade Hall, Heavenly Prison, Black Tortoise, Director of Destinies, and Curved Array. Among them, Azure Dragon, Heavenly Virtue, Jade Hall, Director of Destinies, Bright Hall, and Golden Treasury are the six deities of the Yellow Path. The days governed by these six deities are the auspicious days of the Yellow Path, on which all matters are favorable and there is no need to avoid inauspiciousness.
