What is the Six Realms 六道
Paul PengShare
The Six Paths are like six kinds of roads, along which all things in the world undergo reincarnation, hence the name "Six Paths."
The Heavenly Path--One of the Six Paths
Taoism has many sayings about the Six Paths. Among them, the most representative one is recorded in *The Thirty-Six Revered Sutras*: "The Six Paths are the Heavenly Path, the Divine Path, the Human Path, the Hell Path, the Hungry Ghost Path, and the Animal Path."
Another saying holds that "the Heavenly Path, the Human Path, the Demon Path, the Hell Path, the Hungry Ghost Path, and the Animal Path" constitute the Six Paths. It can be seen that the "Six Paths" in Taoism refer to the six ways through which all things in the world evolve and transform into each other.
