The Shuangjian (double maces) 双锏
Paul PengShare
Shuangjian (double maces) are ritual implements for eliminating evil and subduing demons. They are a pair of quadrangular sticks with slightly thinner front ends. Their copper bodies are carved with tumor-like nodules, similar to whip-like weapons.
Shuangjian are mostly used by red-headed Taoists in Taiwan. During rituals to expel demons, they hold the double maces, wave them, and make violent movements.
