Is believing in Taoism a kind of superstition?

Paul Peng

As far as common sense is concerned, superstition refers to an excessive and blind belief in a certain thing without selection or reflection, which goes against the normal principles of nature. Taoism is a kind of culture and a concrete manifestation of the Chinese nation's ideology, national spirit, traditional culture, customs and habits, etc.

The so-called "Tao" means laws and methods. Taoism advocates conforming to the laws and governing by doing nothing that goes against nature, which is somewhat different from superstition.

However, it cannot be ruled out that there are fake Taoists who use fake Taoist arts to carry out superstitious activities and cheat people out of their money. We must be on guard against this.
