What is the Yizijin 一字巾
Paul PengShare
Yizijin (One-Character Scarf) is a hairband used to tie up the hair, with a hat ornament attached to each end. When the two hat ornaments are overlapped and buckled together, it can be worn on the head. It is the simplest among all Taoist scarves.
Taoism stipulates that one must not enter the hall with a bare head and must wear a Taoist scarf. If there is no other Taoist scarf available, tying a Yizijin can also serve as a substitute.
