What is the Yuke
Also known as "Yushi" (羽士) or "Yuren" (羽人), the term uses bird feathers as a metaphor for immortals who can soar to the heavens. It originally referred to celestial beings and esoteric practitioners, later becoming a specific term for Taoist priests. Many Taoist priests in later generations adopted this as a self-designation.
