Invocation of the Southern Thunder God

The brilliance of the South shines brightly,
Bing Jiu manifests the truth.
True essence, yang spirit,
Warm flames, radiant energy.
Thunderbolts from five directions,
Echo like stones in mighty voices.
Lightning transforms and shifts,
Commanding the altars of the nine regions.
Divine light, fierce and powerful,
Spreads the great wheel of fire.
Fiery clouds tower ten thousand zhang,
Eight chariots, eight wheels.
Thunder rushes forth,
Heeding the decree of the heavens.
The cosmic thunder roars,
Jade Dawn's cavernous spirit.
Water spirits bow their heads,
Fire demons vanish without trace.
Lord Chun Qiu of purity,
Connects with the divine in the violet void.
The great general who vanquishes evil,
Acts swiftly, without delay.
Swiftly, as by law decreed!
