Taoism is an ancient indigenous religion in China with a long history and a large number of people practicing Taoism. Among the famous Taoists are Zhang Daoling, the Celestial Master; Wei Boyang, the ancestor of alchemical classics; Ge Hong, known as Baopuzi; Sun Simiao, the King of Medicine; Lüqiu Fangyuan, titled Xuantong Xiansheng; Zhang Boduan, called Ziyang Shanren; Bai Yuchan, known as Haiqiongzi; and Wang Chongyang of the Quanzhen School, etc. This chapter selects some of these eminent Taoists and provides a brief introduction to them.
