This hexagram consists of overlapping different trigrams (Kun below and Kan above). Kun symbolizes the earth; Kan represents water. Water clings to the earth, and the earth embraces rivers and seas, relying on each other in a state of intimate unity. This hexagram is entirely opposite to the Shi Hexagram, and they are reciprocal "comprehensive hexagrams". It expounds the principles of mutual affection and assistance, magnanimity without selfishness, and solidarity with wholehearted sincerity.
