Baosheng Dadi, also known as "Dadaogong", is a local patron saint worshipped by the Minnan-speaking people in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, and Taiwan.

According to legend, Baosheng Dadi's original name was Wu Tao, with the courtesy name Huaji. His ancestors for generations were kind people who diligently cultivated virtues and were always ready to help others. Born in Shimen Village, Gande Town, Anxi County, he was a famous doctor in the Song Dynasty, also known as Immortal Wu or Huaqiao Gong. During his lifetime, he had the medical ethics of a Buddha and the medical skills of an immortal, always keeping in mind the goal of helping people and saving lives without taking a single cent in return.

In the second year of Mingdao in the Song Dynasty (1033), a plague broke out in Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, leaving the people in dire straits and the farmland barren. Regardless of his own safety, he led his disciples to collect herbs and refine elixirs, saving countless lives. Finally, while gathering herbs in the mountains, he unfortunately fell off a cliff and passed away at the age of 58.
